The demand for continuing Amaravati as the lone capital and the pitch for decentralisation of administration by establishing three capitals are gaining momentum equally.

Deputy Chief Minister K. Narayana made some sensational statements against former CM and TDP boss N. Chandrababu Naidu. People are not inclined to believe in Chandrababu. The 2024 general elections will be the last one to be contested by Naidu, he predicted. “Chandrababu Naidu is growing old and there is every need for him to change his thought process,” he suggested.

The capital region farmers are moving ahead with the Amaravati to Arasavalli padayatra and it is gaining popularity with each passing day. More and more people are joining the walkathon as the yatra is passing through different constituencies.

Meanwhile, those supporting the three capitals are also taking out bike rallies, holding roundtable meetings in every constituency. On October 15, they have planned Visakha Garjana expressing support to the three capitals.

Narayana found fault with the Amaravati farmers for taking out numerous rallies and alleged that the ryots were dancing to the tunes of TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu. He criticised Naidu for wishing that people in only 29 villages witness development.

He said that the YCP government was planning to develop all the regions equally and proposed three capitals for the same reason. The YCP government is implementing welfare programmes effectively without any discrimination of the beneficiaries, he claimed.

He said that Chandrababu Naidu was not able to digest the fact that all the regions in the state would be developed uniformly. People have lost belief in Chandrababu Naidu, Narayana said, adding that Naidu was being favourable towards some tech giants. Naidu encourages corporate system and real estate, he alleged.

The deputy CM warned that another Hyderabad-like situation would come up in the future if administration was not decentralised. Naidu is focusing only on Amaravati and is least bothered about other regions, he said, adding that disparity in development would lead to statehood campaigns like those of Telangana agitation.

Narayana reminded that Naidu took up “shav yatra” in the past for the cause of Amaravati. Now, he is overseeing a padayatra by wealthy people.

The farmers appear to have obtained training to provoke people in whichever place they visited, he added.
