On Saturday, Union Home Ministry has sent a special team comprising of public health specialist and National Disaster Management Authority (NMDA) officer to Telangana to inspect the current situation and COVID-19 measures taken by state government.
After visiting the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) in Gachibowli, the team also visited Akshaya Patra unit which is preparing food for distribution by Telangana government.
Later in the evening, the inter-ministerial team held a meeting with Telangana chief secretary Somesh Kumar & other officials wherein they briefed about the treatment being offered to Covid patients, handling of hot spots, containment zones, quarantine centres and other measures which are being implemented to contain the corona crisis in state.
Furthermore, Somesh Kumar informed the team members about preparedness of government in dealing the novel corona virus, monitoring, sample testing, state helpline, medical equipment, supply of ration to poor and migrant labourers, Shelter Homes, Annapurna Canteens and distributing of rice and Rs 1500 to all the white card holders in state.
Having learnt everything from CS, the special team has expressed satisfaction over measures being taken by Telangana government.
