From 2014 to till date, many leaders have left the Telangana TDP. The likes of Revanth Reddy, Errabelli Dayakar Rao and many others took their own political route for their personal reasons. The last notable name to leave TDP was, L Ramana.
And in a big development, a BC community leader has joined Telugu Desam in the presence of chief Chandrababu Naidu. He is Kasani Gnaneshwar who hails from Mudiraj community. He is currently the President of Telangana Mudiraj MahaSabha and holds a strong grip over this community.
In the 2018 Assembly elections, Kasani contested from Secunderabad on Congress B-form and lost. Post this election, he was inactive and recently he turned active. There were media reports that Kasani was expected to join TRS and he held talks with TRS trouble shooter Harish Rao. Simultaneously Kasani was approached by Etela Rajender and discussions took place.
But Kasani opted out of all the three major parties and preferred Telangana TDP which is going through tough times in the state. Even political analysts were shocked by Kasani’s decision to join Telugu Desam.
Will this mark the revival of TDP in Telangana state? Can Kasani bring the lost glory to TDP? The road is long and tough.
