Operation Akarsh: TRS rattles BJP

With the Munugode by-election, the BJP had expected to gain significant political mileage in Telangana. When the election notification was announced, BJP was extremely confident that it would win the by-election and later planned to create political unrest in the ruling party. But now things have turned and it looks like the BJP is a huge spot of bother.

This morning serious developments took place and they are in the form of ‘Operation Akarsh.’ BJP leaders Dasoju Sravan and Swami Goud have quit the party and have joined the TRS. First it was Dasoju Sravan who tendered resignation to BJP by writing to T-BJP chief Bandi Sanjay. He added that from the day he joined the BJP, there was a clear lack of leadership and direction within the party. Moreover the party is very much in favour of big contractors instead of the backward classes. Sravan alleged that BJP is widely distributing money, meat and liquor in Munugode just to win the election by all odds.

In the case of Swami Goud, he surprised everyone by meeting none other than TRS chief KCR at Pragathi Bhavan. After meeting KCR, Swami Goud resigned from BJP and announced that he is returning to TRS. Swami Goud was a retired government employee and he was part of the Telangana separate statehood movement and after the statehood was achieved, he joined politics. He was made the first chairman of Telangana Legislative Council by KCR but he was not given a second chance. Upset with this Swami Goud joined BJP but in no time he changed his mind.

Well not just Dasoju Sravan or Swami Goud, political circles abuzz that a sitting BJP MLA is also expected to join the TRS. From the sources we hear that he is Dubbak MLA Raghunandan Rao. He was also with TRS initially but he was suspended from the party for unknown reasons and after contesting unsuccessfully twice, he won the Dubbak by-election with just over 1000 votes.

With this ‘Operation Akarsh’ from TRS, the BJP looks absolutely rattled. The TRS sources that this is just a trailer and there is a lot in the coming days and eventually BJP will be left with Bandi Sanjay and Dharmapuri Aravind.
