Prime Minister Narendra Modi not recognizing AP BJP chief Somu Veerraju has created a big storm in AP political circles. It also raked up a huge debate in AP BJP’s internal matters that how come Modi failed to identify the chief of state’s party.
However the entire episode is widely circulating in the media circles and no one has any clue what happened in Modi’s meeting with AP BJP core committee. Reacting to Modi and Somu’s episode, BJP Rajya Sabha MP GVL Narasimha Rao suspected it to be a conspiracy against Somu.
GVL clarified that there is absolutely no truth in such reports. “It was PM Modi who asked everyone to introduce themselves. As AP BJP chief, Somu stepped up and introduced himself and later introduced all the leaders who were in the core committee meeting,” stated GVL.
On Somu’s future, GVL opined that the national leadership of BJP has full faith in Somu Veerraju and he will lead the party in 2024 elections. “It’s a conspiracy by some people who oppose Somu but we are with him,” added the Rajya Sabha MP.
On Modi’s visit to AP, GVL believes that it did boost the party’s morale and very soon, the Modi government will sanction more projects for AP. “The Centre is committed to the development and welfare of AP and we are doing everything we can,” GVL summed up.
