AP-TS RTC: Talks Failed On Inter-state Public Transport

On Sunday the Centre has asked the states not to impose any restrictions on inter-state public transport and allow the moment freely. Accordingly the higher officials of APSRTC and TSRTC met today at Bus Bhavan in Hyderabad to discuss about the restoration of transport between the Telugu states.

This meeting lasted for hours yet the officials from both the sides did not come to a logical conclusion. In this meeting the TSRTC officials asked the APSRTC to reduce its services in Telangana. Accordingly to the Telangana officials, APSRTC buses run over 1.2 Lakh kilometres in the state.

Also the Telangana officials asked for a new inter-state agreement between the two Telugu states. In reply the APSRTC said that they would discuss this agreement matter with the state government as the RTC is merged with the government.

So the meeting concluded without a proper solution but the RTC officials from both the sides have decided to meet once again. But the date is not finalised.

Since the lockdown in March third week the transport between Andhra and Telangana had been completely shut. People are preferring to travel in their own and rented vehicles while many were looking at the resumption of RTC services.
