Gorantla Turns Headache For YCP!

Hindupur MP Gorantla Madhav has turned into a headache for the YCP. Though a novice in politics, he is mired in controversies. It is just four years since he entered politics. He resigned to his job in the police department and won as the MP from Hindupur.

Apart from the nude video controversy, the opposition alleges that MP is also involved in corruption and rowdyism. Of late, a section of YCP leaders are mainly worried about that he is involved in caste politics too.

Madhav belongs to the Kuruba community and he is trying to bring a rebellion among his community members. There is information that he has been telling people of his community in Rayalaseema to fight for their rights and occupy high positions in politics. Try to get party tickets or contest as independent candidates in the elections, Madhav reportedly told the Kuruba community members.

In the last few months, it is learnt that Madhav has been attending all programmes being conducted by the Kurubas. Recently, the community members held Kartika vana bhojanalu in Pattikonda constituency and addressing the gathering, Madhav reportedly said that the Kurubas were losing their vigour and wanted one of their community members to contest from Pattikonda in the next elections. If the YCP is not going to give a ticket, contest as an independent candidate and there are high chances of victory for the Kurubas, the MP said.

A few of the YCP leaders who gained knowledge about these remarks said that the MP was getting involved in caste politics while some others said that he was trying to tell their party president and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to issue the party ticket to him in the 2024 elections. A few of the YCP leaders said that he was appealing to his community elders to mount pressure on Jagan to issue the party ticket to him for a second time.

The YCP leadership is not able to decide whether to give a ticket to Madhav for the next elections. There is talk that Madhav is trying to seek an MLA ticket for the 2024 polls. There are reports that a section of the party leaders are trying to encourage Kuruba community members opposing Gorantla Madhav to eliminate further trouble from his side.
