Don’t Play With Employees, Just Pay Them

Beleaguered Andhra Pradesh state, which is mired into debts, has not paid November month salaries to some of its employees even though it’s the second week of December.

With this, many of the employees unions and teachers joint action committees (JACs) have swung into action and taken to streets to protest against the state government’s alleged lethargic approach on employees salaries.

APTF (Andhra Pradesh Teachers Federation) leaders have actively participated in the protest in Kurnool district. The union leaders have demanded the government to immediately disburse the salaries and pensions of employees and retired employees respectively.

Stressing that the employees had never faced such a situation earlier, they said the employees are facing tough situations due to the delay in disbursement of salaries.

The JAC leaders issued an ultimatum to the government stating that they would intensify the protests all over the state if the salaries are not paid immediately.

Meanwhile, many other employees and teachers have not participated in the protests fearing action from the state government. Reportedly, the government is toying with the idea of serving notices to peaceful protests and planning to book cases against people who resort to dharnas.

Opposition parties in the state are also vouching for the employees and teachers whose salaries are not timely deposited.
