Agriculture and farmers are the backbone of this nation. Every political party in this country highly depend on farmers because of their huge vote bank. Also every state government have their own set of schemes for farmers. Probably Telugu states give maximum importance for farmers and the results are evident.
In this list of ‘Most Improved Big States (Agriculture)’ category, Telangana state has topped while the other Telugu state, AP stood at sixth position. Telangana has secured 275 points out of 320 overall score and Andhra has managed 193 points.
In 2021, Telangana stood in second spot in this list and it bettered its position for 2022. But it’s Andhra Pradesh that showed remarkable improvement. In 2021, Andhra was not even in top ten places. From 12th spot for the corresponding year, AP jumped to sixth place which is a good achievement.
This list is an evidence of pro farmers initiatives taken by both the Telugu states and its a great news for the farming community. Good rains, support price to the crop are also some of the reasons for the improvement.
Yet we do hear and see news related to farmers suicide every now and then. Hope both the Telugu states duly address every concern of farmer and resolve them and make agriculture, a best profession.
PM Modi’s home state Gujarat was placed at fourth position. This state also jumped six places from 10th in 2021 to fourth in 2022.
