Will Quit Politics If Peddireddy Wins Elections, Says Naidu

TDP supremo threw down a gauntlet to minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and said that he would quit politics if the latter won in the next elections. Following some harsh comments from Peddireddy, Naidu fumed at the minister.

Ramachandra Reddy criticized Naidu and said that he was speaking like a ward member. “Naidu called me ‘pudingi’. Does he know the real meaning of it,” the minister asked.

The minister ridiculed Naidu for threatening him of dire consequences even after facing humiliating defeat in his native Kuppam. “Naidu should remember that the TDP had been defeated in local bodies, sarpanch and municipal polls in the last three years. It is just funny to note that in Punganur, Naidu said that he would decide my fate in the coming days. Naidu said that he would stop me from moving in his constituency and it is hilarious,” Reddy said.

Peddireddy said that he was associated with the Congress for 14 long years and had done much more to his party and Rayalaseema than what Naidu had done to the state being the chief minister for the same 14 years.

The minister threw down a gauntlet to Naidu and asked him if he can win more seats in Chittoor district than him. It took him a lifetime to grow more than me as a politician, he said and added that Naidu became an MLA with help from former PM Indira Gandhi. Later, he became an MLA after marrying late NTR’s daughter. At that time, they asked the MLA from Kuppam to resign and Naidu contested from that place. Could you become an MLA had you not been the son-in-law of NTR, Peddireddy asked.

Naidu has grown as a politician only because of the close relation with late NTR. Peddireddy said that Naidu was no match for him and similarities cannot be drawn between him and Naidu. The minister said that he had been in doing dairy business since 1993 and that he had never cheated his partners like Naidu. “Would I have been in the business for multiple years if I had a blemished background. Don’t you feel ashamed to tell lies,” he asked Naidu.

“You say that you would make me naked without remembering that Jagan Mohan Reddy had already stripped off your clothes in the 2019 elections. You will go completely naked in the 2024 elections,” Peddireddy said.

Following the jostling between the police and the TDP cadre at Kuppam, TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu visited his party men undergoing treatment in a hospital. He recalled the attack on his residence at Amaravati by the police earlier and alleged that it was done at the behest of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. Naidu said that the government had stooped to an abysmal level by planning police attack on his party cadre in his native Kuppam. “Jagan should remember that neither his father late YSR nor his grandfather Raja Reddy did not stoop to such low level. AP is reeling under the governance of a psycho,” he lamented.
