Modi Hails NTR, A Political Move?

The BJP’s National Executive Committee meeting in the national capital concluded with big resolutions and targets. 2023 will witness nine states Assembly elections including Karnataka and Telangana. The BJP wants to make inroads to southern India and has aimed at winning the primary two states.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the chief guest on day two and he directed the BJP Karyakartas to work hard for the party’s victory. In his address, PM Modi highlighted the name of heavenly NT Rama Rao. PM Modi reminded that NTR came to power by fighting at the grassroots level. He recalled that NTR is a leader who always stood by the people and NTR will be an inspiration to those who want to grow politically.

Assembly elections will be held in Telangana later this year while Assembly polls are scheduled next year in AP if CM Jagan doesn’t call for early polls. BJP hopes to stand strong in both the Telugu states.

The BC communities have an opinion on the late NTR. Some social communities in Telangana have been neglected especially the settlers in Telangana are in trouble after the defeat of Congress and TDP in successive polls.

Modi believes that by mentioning NTR’s name, he can sway the BC communities to the BJP’s side. Moreover, the BC communities in Telangana are unhappy with Telangana CM KCR’s leadership, and Modi wants to take this opportunity to win the confidence of BC communities by mentioning NTR’s name.

In Andhra Pradesh, those communities opposing YCP and CM YS Jagan and neutral voters are looking at the Telugu Desam. NTR fans are also looking for political opportunities and BJP believes that if it can turn such people towards them, there are chances of gaining strength. Just in case if any political party doesn’t get the majority (Hung Assembly), Modi hopes that BJP might play a decisive role in forming the government.

Summing up, Modi is of the opinion that NTR’s name is a trump card.
