The stage is set for Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s first ever public meeting in Khammam. Chief Ministers of three states i.e, Kerala, New Delhi and Punjab have arrived in Hyderabad and will be flying to Khammam with KCR post lunch. AP BRS chief Thota Chandrasekhar is said to be sponsoring the whole event but he refused to comment on it. But Thota has revealed a big update.
The former IAS officer added that BRS (AP) will hold its first ever public meeting in Vizag. Speaking at Khammam, Thota said, “Vizag is the idle place to begin the proceedings for the party. The date has not been finalised and our chief will take a call on it very soon,” said Thota.
Apparently BRS has a strategy to zero on Vizag. The privatisation of the steel plant and YCP government willing to make it Executive Capital, Vizag will have all the attention. On announcing Thota as AP BRS chief, KCR also announced that if his party forms government in Delhi, he would buy back the Vizag steel plant no matter what. Thereby KCR wants to utilise this opportunity and win the confidence of AP people.
KCR and BRS are selective on AP politics. Though the party is yet to lay its full focus on AP affairs, the initial buzz suggests that the party might contest between 20 to 50 Assembly seats where the Velama community vote bank is strong. Simultaneously KCR and BRS have an eye on the Kapu community that has been upset with the YCP government.
