YCP leaders DL Ravindra Reddy and G Veera Siva Reddy will quit the party and join the Telugu Desam. This was confirmed by none other than ex-MLA Veera Siva Reddy and added that he along with DL will join TDP in March.
Veera Siva Reddy met Nara Lokesh in June 2022 and after this meeting, he categorically stated that he will be part of TDP before the next general elections. “People of AP have given up on the YCP government and CM Jagan. The state has gone backwards by 20 years in terms of development,” said Veera Siva.
In the past Veera Siva Reddy represented Kamalapuram Assembly constituency. Currently CM Jagan’s uncle Ravindranath Reddy is representing this constituency. In the 2019 elections, Veera Siva Reddy supported Ravindranath Reddy and so YCP was able to sweep the Kadapa district. It is unclear whether Veera Siva Reddy is anticipating MLA ticket but he made it clear in the past that he is not interested in contesting mainstream elections.
Nevertheless Veera Siva Reddy can play an influential role in elections because he has a strong cadre and presence in the constituency. This will turn advantage for TDP and gain significantly in Jagan’s home district.
