‘Diaper’ Comments On Naidu Not At All Acceptable

Minister Guidvada Amarnath slammed Opposition leader and TDP boss N. Chandrababu Naidu for criticizing the YCP government that it had failed to bring in investments to the state. Recently, the World Economic Forum was held in Davos but the state was not invited for the summit and so the government authorities did not attend it, the minister said.

In the wake of the tirade by the TDP with regard to the WEF, Amarnath asked what did the TDP government do even after attending the Forum without fail every year during its tenure from 2014 to 2019. Except for glorifying even trivial things like Naidu attended the meetings in the summit though he was suffering from dysentery and fever, none of the MoUs inked then were grounded so far, the minister said. The minister said that the media tried to show everything in a big way and hence, could have reported that Naidu was wearing diapers and attending the meetings as he was affected by diarrhoea, Amarnath said.

At this time of the year, climate in Davos will be extremely cold and hence, it is not news even if we do not take bath every day. “But the media reported even this when Naidu was in Davos,” Amarnath said.

“There was one news report where Lokesh was seen eating Gongura pappu and the TDP leader said that they would feed the investors with the dal to make them invest in Andhra Pradesh. Will people invest eating your cuisine,” he asked.

At the same time, he claimed that the YCP government had already given Cabinet clearance to projects worth Rs 35,000 to Rs 40,000 crore of the total MoUs worth Rs 1.25 lakh crore undergone at the Davos summit, six months ago. Arcelor Mittal has grounded expansion works worth Rs 1,000 crore in Vizag, he informed.

The minister said that Chief Minsiter Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was trying to bring those attending the Davos summit to Vizag by March as an investment summit would be held in the City of Destiny in a big manner.

He also praised the CM and said that it was his heroism and charisma that was drawing investments to the state. AP has a GDP of 11.43% and reached a mark of Rs 1.5 lakh crore export last October, he said. However, he did not mention the sectors which were exporting goods.

He also said that even Lord Varuna is happy looking at Jagan’s face and so blesses with bountiful rains every year during his rule. “Chandrababu and drought are twins and hence, the state reeled under trouble during the TDP rule,” he said.
