TDP MP Rammohan Naidu said the Centre was not implementing the promises made during bifurcation of the state. It has been more than 10 years since the state was divided but the Centre has not accorded special category status, he pointed out.
Similarly, the Polavaram project is also not complete. In the Lok Sabha, the MP said the TDP government had completed 70% of the project works but the YCP government has shelved the works for the last three years. During the TDP rule, we ensured that the Centre reimbursed the cost of the project constructed till then. The revised estimation of the project yet to be built is Rs 55,000 crore, he said.
Railway zone was not given to Visakhapatnam. The Centre has not begun constructing the buildings for commercial operations of the railway zone, he reminded.
The MP demanded that the Centre should withdraw its decision to privatize the Vizag Steel Plant. He also mentioned that several central institutes have not been moved to their permanent campuses as the Centre did not grant funds for construction of permanent buildings even when the TDP government allocated lands to them, he said.
The MP reminded that Centre had not fulfilled any of the promises done to the state during the split and urged it to release the necessary funds for their completion.
