Political Talk: Pattabhi To Contest From Gannavaram?

The last 48 hours have witnessed a heated political environment in Gannavaram Assembly constituency with MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi’s supporters attacking the TDP office, damaging the furniture and setting the vehicles on fire. The prime victim in this whole episode is TDP’s official spokesperson Kommareddy Pattabhi.

Pattabhi has been targeting the YCP government frequently in the recent past and his remarks against MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi, did go over the line but it was a counter to Vallabhaneni and Kodali Nani who are bad mouthing TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh. The police entered the scene and arrested Pattabhi. But there is crucial info that got leaked and eventually this info turned into a violent event.

The info is the TDP is considering Pattabhi for Gannavaram constituency in the next elections and MLA Vallabhaneni who learned about this, sent his henchmen to attack the TDP office, in a way to threaten Pattabhi. The comments from local TDP leaders suggest the same and Pattabhi might go up against Vallabhanani and it would be a huge political fight.

Apparently Gannavaram is a strong hold for Telugu Desam. The party has retained this constituency for years because of a strong local cadre and vote bank. But Vallabhaneni rubbished it as it’s his personal capacity that he won twice consecutively and now he moved out of TDP and often he lamblasts Naidu and Lokesh.

TDP leader Bacchula Arjunudu was the first option for TDP from Gannavaram but he is not keeping good health recently and the party is said to be looking for an alternative. This is when Pattabhi’s name came into the picture and the high command is seriously working on Pattabhi’s candidature. Credible info reached Gannavaram TDP leaders regarding the same and this info reached all the way till Vallabhaneni.

If this is true, Pattabhi has high chances of stunning Vallabhaneni in his backyard yet a full confirmation is necessary from the TDP sources. It looks like TDP has almost found a suitable replacement for Vallabhaneni.
