Kadapa Reddy Is Back To TDP From BJP?

As 2024 general elections are fast-approaching, the political equations in Andhra Pradesh state are changing swiftly. Leaders across political parties are crossing over for greener pastures. While the majority of leaders are preferring the Opposition TDP, a handful of TDP leaders are also contemplating joining the ruling YSRCP.

In this backdrop, all eyes are on Kadapa district since it happens to be CM Jagan’s home turf. Former minister Adi Narayana Reddy is back in the news. It is strongly buzzed that Adi Narayana Reddy is going to join TDP. Adi is presently in BJP. However, he is hoping to return to TDP and is going to contest on the cycle symbol.

Adi Narayan Reddy was known as a staunch loyalist for late YS Rajasekhar Reddy. He had joined YSRCP when it was launched by YS Jaganmohan Reddy. In 2014, he won as MLA from YSRCP and later shifted his loyalties to then ruling TDP. He was made the minister in the TDP regime. He subsequently contested on TDP for Lok Sabha in 2019 and lost. He later joined the BJP.

Now, Adi Narayan Reddy is said to be in talks with TDP to return to the party. TDP is also welcoming him as he would be a strong candidate in Kadapa district. While TDP is focusing on Jagan’s bastion i.e Kadapa, YSRCP is wanting to win the TDP’s fort Kuppam. We hear that many other leaders are willing to join TDP in various districts.

YSRCP Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy is going to join TDP and is likely to contest the next polls on TDP ticket. Another senior leader from Nellore and former finance minister in YSR’s cabinet Anam Ramanarayan Reddy is also contemplating to shift to TDP.
