The Telangana High Court has provided just a minor relief to Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy who is facing charges on the mysterious murder of YS Vivekananda Reddy. On Thursday evening Avinash Reddy approached the Telangana High Court and filed a writ petition. He urged the court to give directives to the CBI to refrain from arresting him.
This petition of Avinash Reddy was taken up by the High Court today and in this the MP made three credible arguments that the court was convinced and they are that his investigation should be recorded both in audio and video versions and the second one is to have his advocate’s presence during his probe and the third is, to refrain CBI from arresting him.
The High Court considered the first two arguments but added a minor just to the third one. The court has directed the CBI not to arrest Avinash Reddy till Monday and reserved the final verdict on the same day.
So far CBI has interrogated Avinash Reddy twice and he appeared before the probe agency on Friday too. Until Monday he may not be arrested but the media reports suggest that the CBI might call him yet again probably on Tuesday and depending upon the court’s verdict on Monday, the CBI will take further action in this case.
In all likelihood it looks like there are high chances that the CBI might detain Avinash Reddy, maybe it could get delayed by a day or two.
