That Is KCR Debba: Centre Goes Back On Vizag Steel Plant

Union Minister of State (MoS) for Steel and Rural Development Faggan Singh, who is in Visakhapatnam today, made interesting comments on the Vizag Steel Plant. He said Vizag Steel Plant will not be privatised “overnight”. He said the centre rather wants to strengthen the Vizag Steel Plant further and hence starting new departments in the plant. He said the government is focusing on RINL (Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited) Steel Plant. He said talks with RINL management and workers unions will be held soon. Now, these comments have given a big boost to the BRS party and its chief KCR. However, Faggan Singh said the Telangana government participating in the bidding for Vizag Steel Plant was just a ploy.

BRS party working president and Telangana IT Minister KTR said this is victory of KCR. He said KCR has been raising his voice against the Centre over the privatisation of Vizag Steel Plant. He said it is the BRS party’s first major victory against the Centre. He said the Centre has gone back on the proposal and deferred its plans to privatise the Steel Plant in Visakhapatnam only after KCR took a firm stand against it. “That is KCR’s Debba,” said KTR. He said BRS is strongly fighting against the Centre and hence it stepped back. He recalled that the Telangana government has participated in the bidding for Vizag Steel Plant.

Meanwhile, another senior BRS leader and Telangana Finance Minister Harish Rao said the Centre has bowed down after KCR stepped in to the issue. He said this is the victory of BRS, AP people and the workers of Vizag Steel Plant. Overall, the politics around VSP privatisation took a new turn with the entry of BRS and KCR. Now, AP politics and the Vizag Steel Plant have become a hot topic in Telangana.
