Avinash Reddy’s Close Aide Arrested, Who’s Next?

In a key development in the mysterious murder of YS Vivekananda Reddy, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Gajjala Uday Kumar Reddy. He happens to be the close aide of Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy. The CBI picked up Uday Kumar Reddy from Pulivendula and moved him to Kadapa central jail guest house. He was tracked by the CBI using Google’s TechLayout and found out that he was residing at MP Avinash Reddy’s father Bhaskar Reddy’s residence.

Uday Kumar works in a local uranium factory in Kadapa and his father happens to be Jayaprakash Reddy. There are allegations that Jayaprakash Reddy had done suture (stitches) to Viveka’s head and based on this, the CBI had questioned Uday Kumar Reddy too.

The CBI has credible information that on the day Viveka was murdered, Uday was with MP Avinash Reddy. Uday reportedly called an ambulance, freezer and the doctors. On the other hand the CBI has also taken Uday’s father Jayaprakash Reddy into detention and is questioning him separately.

Before this, the case took a drastic turn with Uday Kumar Reddy filing a case against CBI officer Ram Singh in September 2022. Uday alleged that Ram Singh had pressured the former to give a bogus witness (testimonial). He approached the Kadapa Special Mobile Court and the court referred it to the local police. Based on the allegations, the police booked CBI officer Ram Singh under sections 195A, 323, 506 and Red With 34 IPC.

Now that the Hyderabad wing of CBI is investigating Viveka’s mysterious murder, his arrest of Uday Reddy has gained significance.
