The whole episode of YS Viveka’s murder, the arrest of Bhaskar Reddy and the CBI tightening noose around YSRCP MP Avinash Reddy seems to be a huge headache for CM YS Jagan. Political analysts are of the opinion that this entire row is resulting in the fall down of CM Jagan’s graph. Since it is Jagan’s own family issue, even YSRCP leaders, ministers and MLAs are tight lipped on this. This silence is causing a huge damage to the ruling party politically. Opposition is a step ahead in cornering YSRCP and Avinash Reddy in the whole episode.
CM Jagan’s image in the public has taken a severe beating with Babayi Viveka’s murder and the names of suspects who are directly related to the CM.
Nara Lokesh in his padayatra Yuva Galam stated, “All fingers are pointing at Tadepalli. When Viveka was murdered, YSRCP termed it as ‘Narasura Raktha Charitra’. It is now proven that ‘Jaganasura Raktha Charitra’. CBI investigation and arrest of Bhaskar Reddy is crystal clear who is involved in Viveka’s murder.” Lokesh and TDP leaders have amped up their verbal attack on YSRCP.
Whereas YSRCP is silent. It is not able to counter the TDP and Opposition’s comments. Thus, the image of the ruling party is daunted. All this is unfolding ahead of the next general elections in 2024. With elections less than a year away, YSRCP is struggling with the legal issues of MP Avinash Reddy in Viveka’s murder. Viveka’s daughter YS Sunitha too is making moves with no compromise.
There are strong reports emerging that YS Sunitha may also contest politically. This is going to be a rude shock for the ruling party if Sunitha contests from opposition or even if she contests as an independent with support of opposition. All these are giving tough times for CM Jagan and his coterie.
This is why Jagan has cancelled all his programs including his family trip to London owing to prevailing political conditions. He called for a high-level meeting with party senior leaders YV Subba Reddy, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy on the next plan of action. YSRCP is brainstorming on its stand in the whole issue if Avinash Reddy gets arrested.
On the other hand, YSRCP recently kick started campaigns with slogans ‘Jagan Anne Mana Bhavishyattu’ and ‘Maa Nammakam Nuvve Jagan’. However, YSRCP is lagging behind in these campaigns as it is plagued by Avinash Reddy’s suspicious role in Viveka’s murder. It is clearly evident that the opposition will make Viveka’s murder case a huge political weapon and issue in the next election campaign. How Jagan and his party take on this is what matters.
