BJP-TDP Alliance? Here Is Lokesh’s Answer!

The ongoing Padayatra of Telugu Desam Party’s General Secretary, Nara Lokesh, in Kurnool district saw him interacting with students on Sunday evening. During the conversation, Lokesh addressed a crucial debate on the TDP and BJP alliance in the future.

Given that Muslim minorities tend to stay away from the BJP, the question arises as to how the TDP would handle this community, which forms a major vote bank in the Rayalaseema region, if it allies with the BJP. In response, Lokesh asserted that during the period when TDP formed a government along with the BJP, from 2014 to 2019, not a single incident was reported against a Muslim minority woman, and hardly any major crime was reported targeting this community.

Lokesh further emphasized that the TDP is a secular party committed to protecting everyone and working towards the upliftment of people, regardless of their caste, religion, or region. He added that eradicating poverty remains the top priority of the TDP, and it will continue to fight against it. Lokesh’s response was spot on, clearing any doubts that the minority community may have had about the TDP’s alliance with the BJP.

In essence, Lokesh clarified that the TDP is committed to protecting the rights and interests of all citizens, including minorities. He reaffirmed that the TDP’s priority is to work towards the betterment of people and to fight against poverty, indicating that the party’s alliance with the BJP will not affect its policies and principles.
