The counting for Karnataka Assembly elections has commenced and in the initial trends, the Congress party has taken a clear lead. The Exit Polls have predicted that Congress has the edge and they have proved to be spot on.
As per the latest trends, the Congress is leading at 121 Assembly constituencies while the BJP is ahead in 72 constituencies and Janata Dal (secular) party is leading at 25 places. Karnataka Assembly is comprised of 224 Assembly constituencies and needs 113 majority to form a government.
Former minister Gali Janardhan Reddy who floated his own political party, contested from Gangavathi constituency and he is leading from this place.
Coming JD(S), ex-CM Kumaraswamy is trailing from his Channapatna Assembly constituency.
