Vijay Sethupathi, who lost out on the chance to be seen in the biopic of cricketer Muttaiah Muralitharan has found another biopic opportunity. This time, it is the biopic of Karnataka’s current Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah. Tentatively titled, ‘Leader Ramaiah: A King Raised by the People,’ Sathya Ratnam will helm the two-part movie.
The first part will focus on Siddaramaiah’s childhood and adulthood, shedding light on the formative years that shaped him into the visionary leader he is today. The second part will delve deeper into his journey as a lawyer and ultimately lead to his tenure as the Chief Minister.
The casting of the lead role has been much speculation, with reports suggesting that versatile actor Vijay Sethupathi is considered to play the role of Siddaramaiah. Vijay Sethupathi’s potential portrayal of Siddaramaiah’s character is expected to be a significant highlight of the biopic. While his appearance in the film may be towards the end, it is said to leave a lasting impact on audiences, lasting around 20 to 30 minutes (in part one).
The production team is meticulously planning every aspect of the film, including the casting of two heroines, whose names will be disclosed soon. Furthermore, the search for a talented young actor to portray Siddaramaiah during his younger years is also underway.
The film’s pre-production is in the final stages, and an official announcement is yet to be made.
