Political Talk: BRS-BJP Tacit Understanding!

The BRS and BJP, which had been targeting and spewing venom at each other in Telangana during the past, seem to have developed camaraderie of late.

It is likely that the BJP would extend a helping hand to the BRS if it falls short of the magic number in the Assembly polls for which, the BRS would support the BJP at the Centre, in return.

Probably, for the same reason, both the parties have been confining to mild criticism against each other these days.

When Bandi Sanjay was the head of the BJP state unit, both parties exhibited enmity against each other but since his removal from the post, there has been a change in situation.

At the same time, BRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao daughter and MLC K. Kavitha’s alleged involvement in the Delhi liquor scam also came into the limelight and at one moment, it was even said that she would be sent to the jail. However, even that issue has been buried under the carpet now.

Once Bandi was removed from the Telanagna BJP unit chief post, even the buzz on Kavitha’s arrest also died down, indicating some understanding between both the parties.

Further, the BRS keeping the Communists at bay during the preparation of the party’s first list strengthened talk about its friendly disposition with the BJP.

During Munugode bypolls, the BRS won the seat with the help of the Left parties and KCR said his party would continue association with the communists even in the Assembly polls.

However, the BRS first list was prepared without consultation of the Left parties. This was done with a clear intention to stay away from the non-BJP alliance I.N.D.I.A being headed by the Congress, which comprises the Left parties too.

One other factor that indicates that the BRS is getting close to the BJP is KCR moving closely with seer Chinna Jeeyar Swamy again. Since unveiling the Ramanajacharyulu’s statue in Mucchintal, there has been rift between Chinna Jeeyar Swamy and KCR as the plaque installed for its inauguration did not display KCR’s name even when the Telangana government had helped the seer in all possible ways for the installation of the statue.

Now, there is information that Chinna Jeeyar Swamy visited Yadadri on August 21 and heaped praises on KCR for his efforts in elevation of the temple. There is information that Chinna Jeeyar Swamy would grace more religious functions in Telangana in the coming days and also share dais with KCR in Jangaon during the inauguration of Sitarama swamy temple in Valmidi of Palakurthi mandal on September 4.

With the elections drawing very near, political equations are also changing fast in Telangana and time alone can reveal what more is store for the electorate.
