Recently, the list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections was unveiled, encompassing 115 names for 119 constituencies. The announcement triggered discord within the party, particularly among at least 30 of the declared candidates.

Recognizing that these dissatisfied individuals could potentially undermine the success of the candidates, KCR embarked on a strategy to mitigate the issue. This effort was exemplified by an appeasement initiative. For instance, Thummala Nageswara Rao, who had hoped for a ticket in Paleru of Khammam district, faced disappointment. His supporters gathered and urged him to resign from BRS and join the Congress party, where they believed he stood a better chance of securing a ticket.

Amidst these developments, KCR and Thummala reportedly engaged in conversations on phone call, the details of which remain undisclosed. Subsequently, there were no further discussions regarding joining the Congress party. Meanwhile, Khammam MP Nama Nageswara Rao took the initiative to appease tensions. Despite previous differences between him and Thummala, Nama met with Thummala for approximately an hour, possibly with the intention of finding common ground.

As pressure mounts on Thummala from both Congress leaders and his supporters, Nama Nageswara Rao’s intervention seeks to ease the situation. It’s worth noting that the relationship between the two leaders was once characterized by conflict during their time in the TDP. In light of this, Nama’s efforts were directed towards fostering reconciliation between Thummala and the party, aiming to consolidate unity.
