Telanagna TDP will not support Congress: Kasani

Telangana Telugu Desam Party president Kasani Gyaneshwar Mudiraj declared that the party will fight the 2023 elections in the state.TDP candidates will contest from all the 119 Assembly constituencies in the state, he said.

He rubbished social media messages that the TDP would support the Congress in the upcoming elections in Telangana. “If there is anything regarding the party, I would announce it before the media,” he said and added that it was not fair to write such reports based on rumours.

He reminded that the TDP was established by their party founder N.T. Rama Rao to fight against the Congress and that they would stick to it. In Telangana, the TDP is more strong than the Congress, he averred.

However, he said that there were chances for the Telangana TDP to have a truck with the Jana Sena. TDP national president and former CM N. Chandrababu Naidu’s decision is final with regard to the poll alliances, he said.

Kasani said that election candidates who were fearing that they would have to face rout if the TDP would go for polls were behind such rumours.

Further, Kasani reminded that it was the TDP which declared the list first with 30 candidates. Soon, the remaining 87 candidates would also be announced. Surveys are going on and several leaders are trying to join the TDP. The increasing popularity of the TDP is fuelling such rumours as our rivals do not want the TDP men to contest the elections and also check the influx into the party. “It is for the same reason that they are implanting such false information that the TDP would support the Congress.”

Kasani said that they would meet Naidu during ‘mulaqat’ and then take a final decision about the party’s list of candidates.

He also said that actor and MLA N. Balakrishna would campaign for the TDP in Telangana.

Kasani said that the party manifesto would also be released soon. It would be including the welfare of the underprivileged, women, youth, farmers and all other sections in the society.

The TDP had always supported the BCs and it would continue to fight for their rights and interests, he added.
