Former Chief Minister and Opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu has proposed an idea to start a Music University (Sangeetha University) in the name of SP Balasubramanyam at his hometown Nellore.
Asking the state government to announce the Music University in SPB’s name, Chandrababu wrote a letter to CM Jagan. He also advised the government to announce SPB’s birth anniversary as a state festival.
Naidu told the government to inaugurate the bronze statue of late SP Balu at SPB Music University. Chandrababu asked the government to develop Balu Kalakshetram at the University and asked the government to encourage youth to learn music and fine arts. Chandrababu said encouraging youth towards music and fine arts would be the best tribute to the legendary singer.
Chandrababu has also proposed SP Balu National Award for the outstanding performers in the music field. He asked the government to name the State Sangeetha Akademi after SPB. In his letter, Chandrababu stressed the need for encouraging Telugu language, culture.
While Chandrababu has made good recommendations to the government, one has to wait and watch how the state government responds. Will the ruling party consider Naidu’s recommendations into account and implement them or will they keep them aside for political reasons?
