BRS MLA Candidate Stabbed, Condition Serious

In a shocking and unfortunate incident, Medak sitting MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, who is contesting as BRS MLA candidate for Dubbaka constituency, was attacked by a miscreant carrying a knife. The assailant stabbed Kotha Prabhakar Reddy in his stomach causing serious injuries.Prabhakar Reddy was campaigning at Surampalli in Dalatabad mandal when this untoward incident took place.

Acting immediately, BRS party workers who were with Prabhakar Reddy rushed him to Gajwel hospital. The onlookers caught hold of the stabber and beat him before police entered the scene. The miscreat is identified as Gatani Raju, a native of Cheppala village of Mirdoddi mandal. The motive behind the attempt to murder is being ascertained by the police.

The cause of the murder attempt is yet to be known. Police are investigating the case. Prabhakar Reddy may be shifted to a private hospital in Hyderabad for better medical facilities. BRS senior leaders have cancelled their official programmes and headed to Gajwel to monitor the situation. Harish Rao is closely following up with doctors on Prabhakar Reddy’s health condition.
