Telangana CPM state secretary Thammineni Veerabhadram, who is known for his outspoken attitude, has once again belittled YSRTP president YS Sharmila with his satirical comments during his recent media interaction.
It is well known that CPM has called off its alliance with the Congress party in Telangana ahead of the assembly polls because of the latter’s inordinate delay in finalizing the seat sharing with the left parties. Angry at the Congress high command for not giving any clarity over the seats requested by the left parties, the state committee of CPM decided to contest alone in 17 seats across the state.
Thammineni Veerabhadram asserted that the CPM party always adheres to the policies and principles set by the high command. He openly ridiculed Sharmila’s YSRTP by saying that CPM is not a party like those who backed out from the polls at the last minute and extended support to the Congress party.
This is not the first time the CPM has caused an embarrassment to Sharmila. A few months ago, Veerabhadram openly lashed out at Sharmila’s statements against the BRS party which was once an ally to the CPM. It was a big shocker to Sharmila because she was welcomed by the CPM to their party office and when she started attacking the BRS, Thammineni quickly retorted in front of media by saying it was not correct on part of her to make adverse remarks on its ally in their office.
Veerabhadram said the Congress has humiliated the left parties by intentionally delaying the sharing of seats. He said the CPM party was never over-ambitious and didn’t demand 50 – 60 seats, but asked to allot only 5 seats in its strong areas. As the Congress party didn’t agree even to give 3 seats, CPM decided to sever ties.
