Siggu, Saram Vunte Vote for Me: BRS MLA

Dornakal BRS MLA DS Redya Naik is known for his controversial remarks. In his latest remarks, he indirectly issued a warning to the electorate in his constituency and said that if people had shame (siggu, saram) they should vote to the BRS in the upcoming elections.

Addressing a road show in Dornakal in Mahabubabad district, he reminded the electorate that he had done what was necessary for the people. “I brought a power sub-station granted to the place as you all were facing difficulty in irrigating your fields. Do you remember that?”

His statements seemed to be intimidating even while trying to drive in a logic that when they had used his services, they should reciprocate by casting their vote to him in the elections. Two months ago too, Redya Naik said that all the government schemes would be implemented for the BRS activists only. Further, he said that only those who vote for the BRS alone would be given the benefits of the government schemes. When some youth protested against these remarks, police present at the place took them into custody.

Redya Naik is taking the wrong route to garner votes from the public. He is not implementing the schemes with funds from his pocket. All elected representatives should remember that they are servants to the public and the funds collected from the public are being spent towards various welfare programmes, said political observers.

Then he cannot threaten the voters that they cannot get the benefits of the schemes just because they did not vote to a particular party. The various welfare programmes are not party schemes but that being implemented by the government, they added.
