RRR Petition: HC Issued Notices To Jagan

The High Court has commenced proceedings on the petition filed by MP Raghuramakrishna Raju, which alleges financial irregularities in Andhra Pradesh.

Notices have been issued to a total of 41 respondents, including Chief Minister Jagan, several ministers, and officials. The hearing has been adjourned to December 14.

In his petition, Raghuramakrishna Raju contends that financial irregularities are occurring in state-implemented schemes and calls for a CBI investigation.

AG Sriram, representing the government, argued that the petition was filed with a personal motive and lacked public interest, asserting that it does not merit investigation. The court was informed that the petitioner’s claims were driven by personal motives rather than genuine concern for public welfare. The government’s stance is that the petition is unwarranted.

Conversely, the petitioner’s lawyer alleged that the government deliberately destroyed some records following the filing of the petition. After considering the arguments from both sides, the bench ordered notices to be issued to all 41 respondents and adjourned the hearing.

The court proceedings highlight the contentious nature of the allegations and the ongoing legal battle surrounding financial matters in the state.
