Hot Rumour: AP Polls On March 6th?

The hot rumour that is doing the rounds in political circles is that Andhra Pradesh may likely have slightly early polls. As per various reports, the election notification for Andhra Pradesh state polls may be notified on 2nd February and the election is likely to be held on 6th March.

Andhra Pradesh state election is to be held along with a few other states’ general elections. The Lok Sabha polls are also going to be held simultaneously in these constituencies. As the Lok Sabha polls are going to be held in phases country-wide, AP Assembly and Lok Sabha polls would be included in one of these phases.

Speculations are rife that 6th March could be the D-day. However, the counting and results would be declared all at once nationwide. As per the Election Commission of India (ECI), the results cannot be declared separately and all would be announced at once in order to conduct free and fair elections without any biases.

However, ruling YSRCP leaders are not confirming the 6th March date for the AP elections. More details are awaited.
