Vizag Fire Incident: Not YouTuber Nani, Another Nani Arrested

One of the shocking incidents that has stunned Vizag city in recent times is the fire accident that took place in the fishing harbour. On the night of November 19, a major fire engulfed Visakhapatnam’s jetty, destroying over 30 fishing vessels. And the name of ‘Nani’ was heard loud in this case, and the popular YouTuber, ‘Local Boi Nani’ was taken into custody by the police. Here’s the twist now.

Police have finally found out that the incident was caused by one Vasupalli Nani (23) and his uncle Allipilli Satyam, who were consuming alcohol on a boat. Nani carelessly discarded a cigarette butt onto a neighboring boat’s nylon fishing net, igniting the blaze. Despite the severity, the duo fled and returned home to sleep, only for Nani to later realize his role in the incident. Police clarified that it is not YouTuber ‘Local Boi Nani’ behind this incident, but another Nani, who is now arrested.

Following an intensive investigation, police charged Nani under IPC Sections 437, 428, and 285, altering the case from accidental fire. Crucial evidence included surveillance footage showing Nani fleeing the jetty and a witness confirming the unique horn sound of his scooter on the night of the incident. Approximately 30 fishing boats were completely destroyed, and 18 were partially damaged causing almost ₹20 crore property damage.
