During the 107th edition of ‘Mann ki Baat,’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed concern about the increasing trend of overseas weddings among some “big families” in India.
He urged such celebrations to be held within the country to prevent India’s money from leaving its shores. The Prime Minister questioned the necessity of organizing weddings abroad and suggested that hosting these events domestically could provide opportunities for Indians to offer services, contributing to the ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative.
Modi emphasized that even if the infrastructure for such events is not currently available in India, organizing them locally could lead to the development of necessary systems.
