The keenly anticipated day in Telangana political landscape is here. The state is going to polls today with the voters queuing up at polling centers from 7 AM. The polling commenced at 8 AM and the state has seen good number of percentage of polled votes till now.
Meanwhile, there is an alarming social media narrative pertaining to current CM, KCR that is trending on Twitter. The hashtag #ByeByeKCR is trending on Twitter and it is seen a large volume of engagement from the Telugu crowd on social platforms.
The narrative is mainly being driven by Congress supporters and also other opposition party activists who have gained the voice over the last few weeks and are exhibiting overwhelming confidence on the polling day. They are clearly of the opinion that KCR’s time as the chief minister of Telangana is done and what is to come is the establishment of Congress government.
At a time when BRS is proudly claiming KCR will make it a hat-trick, this strongly anti-incumbent trend against KCR has come as a rude shock. Congress’s social media game and ad campaign has been strong for the last few weeks and they have peaked when it matters the most.
