Telangana voters have finally decided to have a new chief minister for the state. KCR, who was in power ever since the formation of the state and the subsequent election, has been uprooted as the Congress party, which finally reaped the reward for giving statehood to Telangana.
With the counting trends clearly in favor of the Congress Party which has breached the magic number already, the celebrations have begun at the Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad and also at Revanth Reddy’s house. Telangana Congress leaders are bursting crackers and distributing sweets at Gandhi Bhavan. There is an eccentric festival vibe at the Congress head office in Hyderabad.
Congress supporters have amassed in huge numbers at the Gandhi Bhavan while Revanth’s house surroundings are resonating with the “CM CM” slogans that are being raised by his followers.
As per the latest report from the Election Commission, Congress is leading in 65 seats. The party has already won 3 seats while BRS is leading in 38 constituencies but is yet to open its account.
