Pragati Bhavan Bustles With Heavy Public Activity

Pragati Bhavan is no longer a prohibited zone. For the first time ever, the imposing building bustled with heavy public activity since the early hours of Friday.

After Chief Minsiter A. Revanth Reddy ordered for the removal of the iron barricades and announced it would get transformed into Jyotiba Phule Praja Bhavan, citizens flocked to the hitherto heavily guarded palatial building with their cameras, grievances and mobile phones. With the Chief Minister’s office being thrown open to the public, many people began shooting the premises with their mobile cameras.

The GHMC sanitation staff was also seen enjoying their lunch in the sprawling green lawns of the Praja Bhavan.

True to his words, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy allowed the public to enter the building. People queued up at the CMO since early morning seeking redressal of their grievances. Later, they were let in to get seated in the huge hall inside the building. The CM lent a patient ear to the people’s problems for nearly an hour and directed the officials to take up necessary action to resolve the issues. It is learnt that a team of officials would specifically look into the grievances, the progress of which would be reviewed on a monthly basis while the CM would hold the Praja Darbar every week.

Bottled water was supplied to the public who gathered at the building seeking the CM’s attention to their unresolved issues. The atmosphere at the CMO instilled confidence among the people that they would be involved and made an integral part of the development of the state, as announced by the CM soon after assuming office. The common public felt that their voice would be given an opportunity to be heard, unlike during the BRS rule when their words were heard only occasionally while those of a few others were left to drown in the cacophony of the people wielding power.

The citizens wished the freedom they were relishing that moment lasted for a lifetime and the leaders whom they had elected as their representatives strive to fulfill their promises and better their lives paving the way for development in the state.
