India is celebrating the 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi yet we as a nation have a long way to go and achieve the dreams of the ‘Father of the Nation.’ But the biggest cause of worry for the nation even in 2020 is protection of women.
The crimes against women are not stopping and reducing. The recent Hathras rape incident is yet another example and how our system is handling such sensitive matters is something should be taken into account.
Amidst this a picture of Gandhi is going viral on social media and this is probably the only solution for the crime against women. In this picture we can see Gandhi statue coming live and handing over the stick to a lady while it says, “Use It Beti, It’s Not 1947. It’s Your Time To Fight For Yourself.”
That’s true.. slogans like ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padao’ don’t really work on real time and India needs stronger laws that should not give any sort of chance to the culprits.
