Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy lambasted the BRS government for its indifference towards youth and women in the state. By raising voice in support of the marginalized sections in the society and also pointing out at the irregularities during the BRS rule, Revanth Reddy is trying to proclaim himself as ‘people’s leader’.
He was speaking in the Telangana Legislative Council and referring to the TSPSC paper leakage, he said that the BRS government had failed to fulfill the aspirations of the youth by failing to generate employment. He said that a probe by a sitting judge was launched into the paper leakage.
“When the Congress promised to distribute Rs 2,500 under Mahalakshmi, the BRS competed and promised that it would give Rs 3,000 per month to women. Under Cheyutha, the Congress promised Rs 4,000 per person and to gain an edge, the BRS promised to give Rs 5,000. When the Congress said it would generate employment to nearly 2 lakh youth, the BRS did not compete to increase the number nor did it make any promise on this issue,” Revanth Reddy reminded.
He also took exception against the death of Dalits in Nerella. When a Dalit family tried to alert the officials about illegal sand mining in the village, the members were killed by getting crushed under the wheels of the vehicle. Surpisingly, the police officer who took action the bereaved family was given a key post in Hyderabad. What should be construed from this incident? Was separate Telangana carved out to witness such episodes?,” he asked.
Revanth expressed concern over the rape of a woman in the Singareni coal belt area by an intoxicated man and said that the Congress would take all measures to eliminate narcotics from the state. All steps will be taken to prevent Telangana from becoming like Punjab where the youth had turned drug addicts, he affirmed.
