Talk: Andhra Pradesh MP Seats Are Costlier Than Ever

Andhra Pradesh elections are around the corner and they pack a lot of importance. In fact, AP polls are keenly observed by all of India, considering that stalwarts like Chandra Babu, Jagan Mohan Reddy, and star attraction Pawan Kalyan will be in action for the polls. So apart from the MLA elections, the MP elections are also very important. This term, the MP elections are also being engineered by the political parties in order to have a say in national politics.

In 2024, all the leading political parties in AP have taken one single motto and that is to field only financially sound and politically popular MP candidates. There is a big demand for MP tickets from seasoned politicians this time. An MP ticket from either the ruling or opposition party starts at 70 crore rupees and goes up to 120 crore or even 150 crore rupees, according to reports.

Each MP segment has at least 6-7 assembly constituencies under it. So both YCP and TDP-JSP have decided to pit only strong MP candidates who can also influence the MLA voting trends.

It is indefinitely said an MP candidate from erstwhile Prakasham district is offering in the range of 150 crore rupees for an MP ticket from TDP. He is likely to get the ticket. After knowing this, YCP is apparently in search of a deep-pocketed candidate who can offer more.

The competition is insanely high for Vizag, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry MP tickets so the ticket prices will soar up further here. Only the strongest of candidates will contest from these constituencies. With Congress gaining pace in South India, the MP elections in 2024 will be interesting to see. In case, there is a tight situation, regional party MPs will also have great prominence. So YCP, TDP-JSP, and also BJP are trying their best to capture as many MP segments as possible.
