Responding to rumors that she would be contesting the Lok Sabha polls as a BJP candidate, Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan dismissed them, labeling the rumors as baseless. She also refuted reports suggesting that she had communicated her intention of contesting election to the BJP’s top leadership.
There were earlier reports indicating that Tamilisai might resign from her post as Governor and contest the upcoming general election from the Thoothukudi parliamentary constituency in Tamil Nadu.
During a visit to the Anuradha Timber Depot, where doors for the Ayodhya Ram Temple are being made, she spoke to the media and denied the claims of running for the elections.
Soundararajan emphasized that there is no truth to the news reports and clarified that she has no plans to contest the elections. She also dismissed speculation about resigning from her position as governor.
