Congress Won Telangana Because Of Me: Sharmila

YS Sharmila floated YSRTP just a year before the Telangana elections and she intended to contest in the election. But she backed out later from contesting and supported Congress instead. Today she has claimed credit for Congress’s win in Telangana.

Sharmila said she is ready to work with Congress and felt that her support is the reason why Congress could win in such a comprehensive manner in Telangana. “Telangana Congress benefited from us. We (YSRTP) are the reason why the party won so convincingly. We will continue with Telangana Congress and work closely with the Delhi leadership”.

Sharmila didn’t strengthen any Congress candidate in the recent election nor did she campaign for the party even on a single day. But she readily claimed the credit for Congress’s win and it has sparked a discussion in social media circles.

But the Congress party is planning to use Sharmila in AP politics rather than Telangana, where the party already has power. The plan laid by Congress is to attract YS loyalists in YCP who are not pleased with Jagan’s working style. More clarity will emerge soon.
