YCP 2nd List: Jagan Banking on “Vaarasulu”

Jagan Mohan Reddy has locked and loaded the second list of candidates for his party. While he went for experienced candidates in 2019, Jagan has gone big on fresh blood this time as he has announced political “Vaarasulu” (successors) this term.

Perni Nani’s son Perni Krishnamurthy alias Kittu has been named as YCP Machilipatnam MLA candidate. He is certain to get the MLA ticket from here. Perni Nani opted to step down from politics and has managed to secure his MLA ticket for his son.

Bhumana Karunakar Reddy’s son Abhinay Reddy is announced as Tirupati in-charge. He will be YCP’s MLA candidate for Tirupati assembly constituency. Afer Karunakar Reddy was accorded with TTD Board chairman post this year, his son Abhinay Reddy is given Tirupati MLA ticket this term.

Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy who is known for carrying YCP flag in Chandra Babu’s hometown of Chandragiri is sidelined this term and the carpet has been laid for his song Chevireddy Mohit Reddy. He will contest from Chandragiri.

Jagan has set aside seniors in the party and instead given a launch pad for their successors. This is a risky move, considering that 2024 is a do-or-die battle for every party involved and not having experienced candidates on your side is not advised. Will Jagan’s risk get the desired reward for him?
