Official: Sharmila Joins Congress; Her First Comment

It is official now. YS Jagan’s sister, YS Sharmila has joined the Congress party. While Jagan came out of the party that his father became the CM from(Congress) and swept it away completely in AP, Sharmila has joined the same party and is on track to bring back its glory.

Sharmila joined Congress in the presence of AICC chief Mallikharjuna Kharge and the face of the Indian Congress, Rahul Gandhi. Both Kharge and Rahul put Congress Kanduvas on Sharmila as she greeted them with a bright smile. Brother Anil was also beside his wife Sharmila as she joined in Congress.

Shortly after joining the party, Sharmila said she is glad to join the Congress party where her family’s political journey started. When asked if she is ready to be active in AP politics, she replied “I am ready to do whatever the Congress party wants me to do. Not just AP, I am ready to campaign in Andaman as well if my party asks“.

She further confirmed that her YSRTP has been merged with the Congress party effective immediately, which was expected. She added that it was YSR’s dream to see Rahul Gandhi as the prime minister and she will work for it now.
