Jagan Offering MP Ticket, Candidate Rejecting?

AP CM Jagan Reddy intends to be done with the MLA and MP selection as early as he can. Those who are getting the tickets are happy and those who aren’t getting the tickets are leaving the party and ridiculing Jagan. But here is a strange case where an MP candidate is bluntly rejecting an MP ticket, despite Jagan offering it to him.

After YCP sent Kakinada sitting MP Vanga Geetha to Pithapuram assembly constituency, the search for the right MP candidate from Kakinada started. Jagan, and YCP’s high command felt it would be right to make Chalamalasetty Sunil contest from Kakinada. Sunil was reportedly called on by YCP and offered the MP ticket and he is not obliging to the invitation.

Reportedly, Sunil has made it clear to Jagan that he has no intention of being active in politics and contesting from anywhere for that matter. This is a tricky condition for Jagan as he will not be expecting a candidate to reject the MP ticket while the party itself is offering it to him.

Sunil had lost as Kakinada MP 3 times in the past and this seems to be running in the back of his head and that is one of the logical explanations for him to turn down the YCP ticket this time. We don’t usually see candidates turning down tickets when they are being served on a platter but Sunil’s case is different, it appears. YCP reportedly sees Pithapuram sitting MLA Pendem Dorababu as the alternative for Kakinada MP ticket, but still efforts are being made to convince Sunil.
