Official: Sharmila is AP Congress President

Andhra Pradesh Congress wing has welcomed its big addition in the last 10 years with the arrival of YS Sharmila as AP Congress president. She has been officially appointed as AP Congress President effective immediately. 

Congress issued a public communication confirming Sharmila’s appointment as AP Congress president. 

“Honourable Congress President has appointed Smt. Y.S. Sharmila Reddy as the President of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee with immediate effect. Hon’ble Congress President has also appointed Shri Gidugu Rudra Raju, the outgoing PCC President as Special Invitee to the Congress Working Committee.” Congress stated. 

This will start a new chapter for Congress in AP after having zero representation in the assembly in the last two elections. It has to be seen how Sharmila will take on her brother YS Jagan during the election campaign.
