The Maharashtra BRS leaders are in a dilemma over continuing with the party. With the party chief remaining incommunicado, they are unable to take a decision whether to find greener pastures or stay put with the BRS.
In a bid to elevate his party into a national outfit, BRS president and former CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao cast focus on neighbouring Maharashtra. He concentrated on Aurangabad, Nanded, Lathur, Kolhapur, Kandharloha districts in Maharashtra and had big plans to pull in a large number of leaders into the party.
He even held many public meetings in these places to encourage party membership drive. Several former MLAs and MPs from other political parties were also enrolled into the BRS. The BRS fielded candidates for the panchayat elections and there was hectic activity in the party at that time. The party won 200 panchayats and even the sarpanch post in a few villages, in addition to some wards in towns.
In fact, the party leaders in Maharashtra are waiting for the party chief to pick candidates for the upcoming Parliament elections but KCR seems to be neglecting the party leaders. Surprisingly, he is not answering any calls from the Maharashtra leaders.
A few enthusiastic leaders even reached Hyderabad to meet KCR but they were not given appointment.
According to sources, even Kalvakuntla Vamsidhara Rao is also not in the reach of the Maharashtra leaders.
The BRS leaders in the neighbouring state are caught between the devil and deep sea and not able to understand how to move ahead.
At one time, KCR was so enthusiastic about expanding his party and playing a prominent role in the national politics but after the defeat in the Assembly elections and his subsequent injury, KCR seems to have gone into seclusion.
