Nagababu – Konathala @ Anakapalle: What’s Happening?

After a disappointing defeat from Narsapuram in 2019, Konidela Nagababu is changing his constituency this time as he has shifted his C/O to Anakapalle. He rented a house in the area and is keeping himself available for the local JSP cadres as he is reportedly preparing to contest as Anakapalle MP.

But Nagababu contesting from Anakapalle is not as simple as it may look, just because he is the brother of Janasena head Pawan Kalyan. Just a few weeks ago, Pawan Kalyan himself welcomed YCP defiant ex-MP Konathala Ramakrishna into Janasena.

As with any incoming leader, Konathala Ramakrishna too came with the hope of securing himself the Anakapalle MP ticket. But with Nagababu also preparing the groundwork for his campaign in Anakapalle, Konathala’s position in the party came under question. If Anakapalle was confirmed for Nagababu then why was Konathala invited into Janasena? This question was raised in the minds of the cadres.

On top of that, Nagababu didn’t meet Konathala even once to discuss the situation. This gained a negative sense internally as Nagababu ignored a new leader and only focused on his own election chances from Anakapalle. After this gained traction, Nagababu went to Konathala’s house for a meeting. The contents of the meeting weren’t disclosed though.

Nagababu’s monopolistic approach in Anakapalle by ignoring Konathala till the very last minute has disturbed whatever ecosystem Janasena had in Anakapalle. Can this damage be reversed? We will know soon.
