The BJP central wing has announced its preliminary list of MP candidates for the general elections. The party announced 195 candidates in its first list and it includes the consistency that will have the candidature of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As expected, Modi is contesting from Varanasi again, after having won from here in 2014 and 19. He is retaining the Varanasi ticket and will contest from this spiritual hub again in 2024. BJP troops are confident that Modi will win by a staggering majority again in this year’s election.
The BJP announced 9 candidates from Telangana with the prominent being Bandi Sanjay who will be contesting the Karimnagar constituency. This announcement of Telangana BJP candidates marks the end to the media theories that the BJP could ally with BRS for the polls. It is made extremely clear that the BJP will contest alone.
In the maiden list of BJP candidates, 28 seats are given to women while 47 seats are given to those aged below 40.
